The Mission and Goals of PACE International Union

Mission

We work to make life better for workers and their families. We will build to mobilize our collective strength to:

  • organize the unorganized;
  • achieve fairness and safety at work and in our nation;
  • reach out to other workers and working families;
  • improve our standards of living;
  • honor true family values with the resources and time for raising our children and investing in the future;
  • share information and skills to act effectively at work, in our union and in our communities.

    Organize

    To build and mobilize our collective strength, we will organize unrepresented workers and represented workers who are not members. We will set organizing as our first priority for elected officers, union staff and union activests. We will change our structure and allocate our resources to organize on an unprecedented scale. We will campaign to protect and strengthen the right to organize, and we will mobilize massively and immediately to overcome corporate abuses.

    Engage

    To reach out to other workers and working families, we will engage our members around our common goals: improving our standards of living and honoring true family values. We will achieve fairness and safety at work through bargaining collectively, and in our nation through taking political and legislative action. We will teach the power of collective action, and we will fight any discrimination that divides us.

    Educate

    To share the information and skills to act effectively at work, in our union and in our communities, we will educate our members. We will gather and share information about the global economy and our country, our laws and our industries, our natural resources, our companies and our union. We will track new work structures and technology, and we will enable our members to learn new skills. We will show what is happening to working families in our economy--and we will speak out to make things better.

    Build

    Where the employers of our members respect the independence and value of a strong union, we will build partnerships. We will contribute our experience and expertise to avert pitfalls and to buttress their success. We will develop political alliances, and we will expect and demand the right to organize without interference.
