Religion and Labor:
Allies in the struggle for worker justice

At the 1999 JwJ meeting in Kentucky,
Fr. Ed Boyle led us in prayer and ACTION!

Friday, July 21, 2000 9:30-3:30pm

The National Jobs with Justice Annual meeting will be at U-Mass, Dartmouth, July 21-23, 2000. Hundreds of labor, community, religious and student activists will come from all over the country to focus on coalition building and organizing for economic justice. Building on the success of the last several years, Jobs with Justice will again host a Religion-Labor preconference for participants who want to focus on this important aspect of our work.

The pre-conference will feature case studies about local organizing and concrete skills for activists interested in starting and/or deepening religion-labor coalition work around workers' rights and economic justice. Topics will include Workers Rights Boards, Labor in the Pulpits, Sweatshops, the Global Economy, Strategic Support for Organizing and Faith Perspectives on Workers' Rights.
