Gladys Haley, Recording Secretary of PACE Local 3-703, has been appointed the full-time Crown Boycott Coordinator for Georgia and already has visited numerous local unions in the Atlanta area about the boycott and the Adopt-A-Crown Station program. Gladys is a 20-year PACE member and has deep roots in the Atlanta labor movement. She will gradually reach out to churches and civil rights organizations as part of the boycott effort.
Herb Mabry, President of the Georgia State AFL-CIO, and Stewart Acuff, President of the Atlanta Labor Council, have pledged their full support for the boycott and to promote it among unions throughout Georgia. Ken Johnson of the AFL-CIO Southern Region has opened his doors to assist PACE in the boycott. Crown has gas stations and convenience stores in Atlanta, Athens, Augusta, Columbus and Decatur.
